My EPC is out of date. At what point in the Upgrades journey do I need to update my EPC to be eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) grant?

The BUS grant is only applicable in England and Wales. If you are based in Scotland, please refer to our article on the Home Energy Scotland (HES) grant.

After paying your deposit, we will submit an application for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) grant on your behalf. Part of this application includes providing the details of your EPC, which must be less than 10 years old to be valid. You can check your EPC on the gov.uk website.

If your EPC is expired or within six months of its expiration date, you will need to get a new EPC in order to qualify for BUS.  We can send you information how to get this done quickly and at minimum cost.
