What is the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) Grant?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a UK government grant of up to £7,500 towards the cost of replacing a fossil fuel or electric heating system with a heat pump. It is available to homeowners in England and Wales. We handle the application entirely on your behalf - no paperwork required on your part.
To be eligible, you must:
- Own the home where the heat pump is being installed
- Be based in England or Wales
- Be replacing a fossil fuel (gas, oil, LPG) or electric heating system
- Not be replacing a system that already includes a heat pump or biomass boiler
- Have all heat-generating components of the original system replaced (circulation pumps, solar thermal collectors, wood-burning stoves, and supplementary electric/immersion heaters may be retained)
- Have a valid EPC no more than 10 years old, without outstanding recommendations for loft or cavity wall insulation or;
- Provide a utility bill confirming your energy source
- Use the new heat pump to supply all heating and hot water demands
